Egypt's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ECEI), affiliated with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), partnered with Cairo University to launch the AI for Sustainable Development Hackathon.
The initiative aims to introduce Cairo University students from diverse disciplines to AI technologies and applications, and explore how they can be leveraged to advance sustainable development and the UN SDGs in Egypt.

This hackathon serves as a preparatory activity ahead of the International Conference on AI and Sustainable Development to be held at Cairo University in October 2025. The event reflects the strong collaboration between academia, research, and industry by encouraging students to generate practical and innovative AI-based solutions.
