The Ministry of Planning and the National Institute for Governance launched the “Sustainable Development Ambassadors” initiative to train 1,000 trainees and raise awareness of achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Goals

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, launched the “Sustainable Development Ambassadors” initiative, with the aim of building national capacities and raising awareness of sustainable development concepts by training 1,000 trainees from various sectors. The initiative focuses on discussing the challenges and opportunities to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the goals of fair and comprehensive sustainable development.

Strategic objectives

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, launched the Sustainable Development Ambassadors Initiative. The initiative aims to build national capacities in the field of sustainable development through a series of training courses for various sectors in cooperation with various stakeholders, including development patterns, by holding a series of discussions on various topics that include a background on the development of environmental thought in the modern era, defining the concept of fair and comprehensive sustainable development, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the green economy, and the circular economy as mechanisms for achieving sustainable development. In addition to discussing enabling policies, opportunities, and challenges facing Egypt to achieve the goals of comprehensive and fair sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030, and the role of various state institutions and segments of society in achieving the goals of sustainable development. The initiative aims to train 1,000 trainees from various state institutions, Egyptian universities (public and private), research centers, the private sector, civil society organizations, and the media, in addition to integrating people with disabilities into the training process.
