Scientific Research

The third was first established on October 1, 2020, as part of the organizational structure of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development. It is primarily responsible for the institute's scholarly output.
The unit not only produces high-quality research, policy papers, and articles, but also engages with academics, scholars, experts, and other stakeholders to inform discussions on governance and sustainable development.

The Journal of Governance for Sustainable Development is the flagship publication of the Unit. The Journal of Governance for Sustainable Development is a blindly peer-reviewed journal specializing in governance and sustainable development, published quarterly. We welcome contributions from scholars, researchers, and experts from diverse disciplines and backgrounds.

In addition, in collaboration with various stakeholders, the unit initiates and manages programs that seek to raise citizens' awareness of governance and sustainable development.

The unit seeks to become a leading research unit and a hub for decision-makers, businesspeople, civil society leaders, and citizens to engage in and discuss issues of governance, sustainable development, and competitiveness.

Objectives:

  1. Improve decision-making by involving all relevant stakeholders.
  2. Providing science-based guidance and recommendations to decision-makers, the private sector, and civil society on issues of governance, sustainable development, and competitiveness.
  3. Enhancing scientific production and quality in issues of governance, sustainable development, and competitiveness.
  4. Providing information on the efforts of relevant authorities in relation to governance, sustainable development, and competitiveness as a means of enhancing the efficiency of the state's administrative apparatus.
  5. Study and evaluate national, regional, and international best practices in governance, sustainable development, and competitiveness, and how Egypt can benefit from them.
  6. Simplify the concepts of governance and sustainable development for ordinary people and provide advice on how to bring these concepts to life in people's daily interactions and economic activities.
