The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, through its Sustainable Development Center, organized a specialized workshop in collaboration with Coventry University Business School titled Integrating SDG Gamification Tools into Academic Curricula. The workshop forms part of the institute’s ongoing Teaching Competency Enhancement Series aimed at supporting higher education institutions in advancing modern, interactive, and sustainability-focused pedagogical approaches.

The session was delivered by Mr. Hamada Qaoud, Senior Sustainability Researcher at the institute, who introduced the Threads of Development SDG Gamification Tool. The model provides a practical and innovative framework that enables educators to embed sustainability concepts into university courses through interactive, challenge-based learning that strengthens student engagement and deepens understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The workshop explored practical applications of gamification across various academic fields, including business, engineering, media, computing, and social sciences, highlighting its role in fostering curriculum innovation and supporting institutions in aligning educational outcomes with global sustainability priorities.
